Automation Controls Engineer

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to perform all aspects of process automation engineering and system integration, including initial concepts, specifications, design engineering, documentation, project implementation, testing, startup, and training of operating and maintenance personnel.  You will be a key member of a diverse team of professionals developing solutions for our client’s most complex automation challenges.

You will:

• Lead or work on a project team responsible for the design, configuration, and testing of continuous and batch control applications.
• Understand the project scope and financials and exercise good time management skills to plan & coordinate the work as part of a project team by developing project schedules and budgets in collaboration with project leadership and identify change orders and justify changes to Project Management ensuring completion of all project deliverables to the satisfaction of the client
• Anticipate and provide solutions to project leadership and/or customer giving high priority to customer satisfaction offering strong technical expertise and advisement as part of the project team
• Adapt to a flexible work schedule & travel, if necessary, to participate in the design, development, and start-up of control systems at the client’s facility

You Have:

• BSME, BCECE, or BSEE preferred or equivalent experience
• 3+ years industry experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Science background with focus on Machine Automation & Packaging Line Integration
• Solid understanding of computer programming and software development
• Experience with machinery and conveyor systems
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system testing
• Able to work independently on projects and tasks with a very organized and methodical approach
• Good communication skills and can work with both internal and external team members
• Able to work in vendor and customer sites supporting the installation, start up and verification of equipment and systems
• Familiar with principles, theories, concepts and industry practices and standards

• HMI Programming FTVIEW ME and SE, RSVIEW 32, Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7 (TIA Portal), Vijeo Designer, Wonderware InTouch/System Platform
• FactoryTalk Gateway/RSLinx, RSNetWorx
• Allen Bradley PowerFlex Drives, Schneider Altivar Drives
• Allen Bradley Ultra 3000 and Kinetix Servo Drives, Siemens SIMOTION, Schneider PacDrive 3
• Cognex Vision Systems
• Allen Bradley, Sick, and Euchner Safety Components

Specific Machinery Knowledge Incude:

• Conveyors – Product, Package, Case, Pallet Load, Accumulators, Sorters, Singulators, Merges
• ASRS and SDVs
• Palletizers, Stretch Wrappers, Pallet Labelers, Pallet Stackers
• Fillers, Case Packers, Tray Formers, Shrink Wrappers, Bundlers
• Code Daters, Checkweighers, High Speed Counters, Metal Detection
